It’s strange how a small yellow bloom causes so much turmoil in those that come in contact with it. Yet they do not know, the dandelion, though small and insignificant, has much to offer. Due to their assumptions they will never know all it has to give. The dandelion, now drenched in poison, begins to wither and fade away; back into the dark underground. Though they are happy that the weed is gone, the dandelion is left heartbroken and alone.
Strength rises up from its roots. A powerful energy it didn’t know it had. The dandelion once again bursts up from the darkness and into the light, in a different yard. Feeling even more optimistic that this time it will be welcomed. Sadly, it is not. The same shattering feeling fills its stem down to its roots. It shrinks back into the deep underground…
Again the dandelion springs up in a yet another lawn. Happy as ever. Hopeful. Hopeful that one day it will be accepted and loved as the other flowers are.
Definition of a weed: A plant that is not valued where it is growing.
